Is there a warranty?
Yes – All products manufactured by the Carolina Gas Lanterns family carry a limited lifetime warranty.
If our product fails from a manufacturing defect, we will repair and ship it back to you at no charge. You are responsible for the cost of shipping it to us. This warranty is non-transferable. Products such as burners, valves, electrical components carry a 1 year warranty as these are not manufactured by Carolina Gas Lanterns.
What is the purchasing and payment process?
After placing your order, a representative will contact you by the end of the next business day to confirm expectations, set an approximate shipping date and to collect a 50% deposit. The remaining 50% and flat rate shipping cost of $75 will be due before lanterns are shipped. All merchandise is subject to applicable sales tax. Payment options include ACH, Venmo, Money Order, Cashier’s Check and Personal Check.

- All items are shipped FOB from our manufacturing facility in Mobile, AL.
- While we take great care in the packaging or our products, occasional damage may occur. Inspection of delivered products should take place within 48 hours of receipt. Delivery damage claims on products must be filed with our carriers within this time fame. Any shipping damage claims 48 hours after delivery will be subject to our discretion WE WILL NOT REPLACE DAMAGED GOODS WHEN THIS PROCEDURE IS NOT FOLLOWED.
- Design changes as well as price changes, although infrequent, are subject to change without notice. We do, however, strive to issue prior notification of both.
- Expedited projects are required to be paid in full upfront.
- As all lanterns are custom made to order, returns and refunds are entirely at the discretion of Carolina Gas lanterns. If you have any questions or concerns before payment our representative will be happy to address these. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction.
What fuel types do your lanterns use?
Our lanterns can be manufactured for use with Natural gas, Propane gas or electric configurations.
Exceptions to this are noted on the products.
How long does it take to complete a custom lantern?
The entire process from purchase, blueprint approval, the manufacturing of and CSA certification testing usually takes approximately 6-8 weeks.
**This time frame may vary due to copper and/or other supply-chain issues.**
How can my lantern(s) be mounted?
Our lanterns can be wall mounted, post mounted, top or front column, hanging by stem, half yoke or by chain (electric only).
Why must my gas lantern be hung on a yoke or stem?
Hanging a gas lantern from a yoke or on a stem keeps the lantern from swinging freely, which can weaken the gas line and possibly cause a rupture.
Are your lanterns certified by CSA?
Yes, all of our gas/electric lanterns are CSA approved & certified.
What is the required pressure in a gas line for a gas lantern?
We recommend that you use 7″ Water Column Pressure for Propane and 9″ of WCP for natural gas..
What size gas line fittings are needed for installation of a gas lantern?
We equip all our gas lanterns to be for 1/4″ OD (this is important) copper gas gas line. We include the flare nut for use by your plumber.
How are your Standards (the pole) installed?
All our poles are cast to be secured at the base by anchor bolts when installed in a cement footing. Our poles can also be a direct burial (24”) for installation that is not in cement footing.
What gauge of copper do you use to manufacture lanterns?
We use 20, 24 and 48″oz copper for most lanterns. We also use 1/4″ copper plate when appropriate for strength..
How does an electric igniter work?
Electric igniters work off a standard 120 v current. You may install a light switch to manually turn the gas lantern on and off or place system on a smart system or manual timer to come on and off at your selected time.
